An Italian tasting menu is a fixed run of courses chosen by the chef rather than by you. Our Italian tasting menu in Dubai comes as five courses, and it follows the order an Italian family would serve at home on a Sunday.
Long menus can slow a good evening down. You want the pasta, the seafood and the dessert, but you only have room for one plate. At Mamabella, we take that decision off your hands.
Below we explain how our five courses work, what arrives at your table, what it costs and how the wine sits alongside each dish.
How the 5-Course Set Menu Works at Mamabella
Our set menu is built around sharing, so the whole table orders it together. We ask for a minimum of two guests, and everyone joins in.
There is a reason for that rule. Courses are timed to reach the table together, so nobody sits watching someone else eat. The kitchen also cooks several dishes in one batch, which keeps the pacing steady from the first plate to the last.
You do not pick the dishes. Chef Alessandro Miceli builds the sequence around what is good that season and around the recipes he grew up with in Sicily. Tell us about allergies or dietary needs when you book and the kitchen will adjust your courses.
Vegetarian guests are looked after the same way. Our team will confirm the swaps with you before the first course leaves the kitchen.
Plan on roughly two hours at the table. Italian meals move slowly by design, and this one rewards a bit of time.

What’s Served in Italian Tasting Menu in Dubai: Course by Course
The menu shifts with the season, so treat the sequence below as the shape of the evening rather than a fixed list. Your server will talk you through the current dishes once you sit down.
- Bread and antipasti. The meal opens with a Sicilian bread basket and small plates to share. Expect olives, sun dried tomato paste and ricotta made in our own kitchen.
- Primo. This is the pasta course. Our chefs roll the pasta by hand each morning, so the course may bring culurgiones, the dumplings filled with pecorino and mint, or tagliatelle with slow cooked ragù.
- Secondo. The main course leans on the wood fired oven and the grill. Fresh seafood appears often, and so does lamb cooked the way they cook it in the interior.
- Contorno. A seasonal vegetable dish arrives beside the main. It stays simple on purpose and gives the table something bright between the richer plates.
- Dolce. Dessert closes the meal. Seadas, the pastry served warm with honey, is a regular, and tiramisu turns up often.
Portions are smaller than the à la carte versions. You should finish the fifth course comfortably rather than defeated.
Tasting Menu Dubai: Prices and What to Expect
A tasting menu in Dubai can run from a few hundred dirhams to well past a thousand, depending on the kitchen and the number of courses. And the wine pairing is offered as an addition.
You pay one price for the whole sequence. Nothing gets added at the end, and most guests tell us they prefer knowing the number before they sit down. The price covers all five courses, the bread basket and the small plates that open the meal.
Michelin inspectors describe a similar logic when they weigh a set menu against an à la carte list. They look for the dishes that best express the chef’s own style, and a set menu usually gathers those in one place.
An Italian tasting menu in Dubai should feel generous rather than fussy, and that is what ours is built to do.
Wine Pairing With Each Course
We serve only the best wines that come from Italy that come from Italy, and the pairing follows the same route as the food. One glass is poured for each course, chosen to sit beside the dish rather than compete with it.
A crisp Vermentino often opens the meal next to the antipasti. A medium bodied red usually meets the pasta course. The main calls for something with more weight behind it, and dessert closes with a small sweet pour.
You can add the pairing when you book or decide once you are at the table. Our team will also build a pairing around bottles you already enjoy. Guests who would rather skip alcohol can ask for a non alcoholic pairing instead.
How to Book
Reserve online through our booking page, or call the restaurant and speak to the team.
Two things help us get your evening right. Mention the tasting menu when you book, because the kitchen prepares several courses in advance. Then tell us about allergies, dietary needs or celebrations at the same time.
Larger groups are welcome. Walk in tables are possible on quieter nights, though the tasting menu is best arranged ahead. Get in touch with our team and we will plan the timing around your party.
Questions Guests Ask About the Tasting Menu
A few questions come up often before a booking. Here are the answers we give most.
Can I order the tasting menu at lunch, or is it dinner only?
The tasting menu runs during dinner service. If you would like something similar at lunch, our team can suggest a shorter set menu instead.
Is there a dress code?
Smart casual works well. Beachwear, flip flops and gym clothing are the only things we ask guests to leave at home.
Can children join the tasting menu?
They can. The portions suit older children better, so for younger diners our team will usually recommend ordering from the main menu instead.
How far ahead should I book?
Two or three days is usually enough on a weekday. For a Friday or Saturday table, give us a week where you can.
Can we sit at the Cucina Mamma table?
You can request it. The Cucina Mamma is our twelve-seat communal table, and it is the best seat in the house when a visiting nonna is cooking with the team.
Let the Kitchen Decide Your Evening
A tasting menu asks you to hand the night over to the kitchen. That trust usually pays off in courses you would never have chosen for yourself.
